Programs


​Minimal Barrier Shelter:

​Safe, overnight shelter for women and female youth. Clients are provided with meals, snacks, some clothing, and basic personal items, and have access to bathroom, shower, and laundry facilities. Telephone and newspaper are also available.

Support Recovery: 

The support recovery program offers participants a warm and welcoming environment offering weekly workshops focusing on recovery, wellness, and life skills. Participants have semi-private rooms with shared laundry, bathrooms and living space.  

Housing Readiness:

The Housing Readiness Program has 7 units of housing with shared kitchen, laundry and bathrooms. Tenants are supported by the Housing Readiness Coordinator to develop and carry out personalized life plans to enable clients to move towards a greater degree of independence and stability. The program offers programming focusing on: life skills, wellness and empowerment. 

Drop in Centre:

​Provides meals, snacks, coffee, outerwear, and personal items. Visitors can access showers, bathrooms, laundry facilities, telephone and newspaper. Fun and free activities, crafts, movies, special events and wellness activities are open to all women.

Outreach Support Program:

Outreach support is offered to both men and women in the community, to help increase well-being and quality of life. Outreach workers assist clients in identifying and accessing needed services in a timely manner. Supports offered include: housing support, rent/utility supplements, transportation to agencies, and assistance completing applications and advocacy. 

Street Humanities:

​Non credit liberal arts program for men and women who have experienced exclusion, poverty, homelessness, unemployment, or barriers to education. This education program offers modified courses delivered at the College of New Caledonia in partnership with AWAC.
